"AGM - Update"

 

Dear all,
 
To let you know that our AGM will be held on Monday January 23rd 2017, at 7pm in the pub.
 
This will be our last AGM before we vacate the allotments in September 2017, so please make an effort to be present for final briefings etc.

If anybody living in St Tudy Parish is looking for an allotment look no further.  We currently have two available plots.  For those who are unaware the allotments are behind Oak Park in St Tudy.  Plot rental is £20 per annum.  If you are interested please contact the secretary Sarah Northcott on 01208 851459 at Hazel Cottage in Tremeer Lane or email hazel3nf@hotmail.com

"Allotment News Update - 30/10/15"

Dear All
 
As we come to the end of another growing season here is the news from STAA. Firstly we have a new allotment holder, Penny Hitchings, she lives in Normans Way and has taken over Bridget’s plot. Penny also has an allotment at Lanhydrock but after moving to the village she decided she wanted a plot nearer home. Please welcome Penny and her husband Chris who have already done a fabulous job on the plot.

The date of the AGM is Thursday 14 January 2016 7pm at St Tudy Inn. Subscriptions will be due on or before this date please. They will remain at £20 per plot. Please can you make cheques payable to STAA and let Sarah have them ASAP. 
 
Brian and Lillian Lamerton very kindly judged the best allotment competition. The winner was Neil’s plot closely followed by Phil in second place and Les in third place. The cup will be presented at the AGM. If you hold the cup please can you get it engraved with your name and bring it along to the AGM.

We have received a letter from Jonathan Hooper which contains two emails written in November 2014 from officers of the Environment Agency concerning drainage on the proposed Oak Park development. There is no news on when or if the development is going to take place. Whilst we understand that the treatment system has it's approved status, further tests are being carried out at the request of the Environment Agency to make sure everything is as it should be. Obviously no building work will take place until the EA is completely satisfied. If the development does eventually go ahead then we might consider whether to conduct our own soil testing in the future and whether this would be an appropriate use of STAA funds.

We understand that Fiona Sullivan would like to share her plot and is prepared to make it slightly more conventional if anyone is interested. If anybody is planning to give up their allotment or would like another allotment please let me know.

"Confirmed - Visit to Lanhydrock Allotments with Mike Seaman"

The visit to Lanhydrock Allotments has been arranged for Thursday 25th June. There could be 18 people:  Jane and Bob King, Peggy and Ryan Metters, Sue Dibble, Dave and Pamela Wilson, Val Smith, Jeremy Northcott, Maureen Bloomfield, Rob Wood, Ivy and Sid Bastard, Ginny and Michael Straugheir, Jenny Muir, Pam Free and Paul Brown. Nearly everyone said they would drive or take someone who couldn’t.

Members of the Lanhydrock Allotments Society will be there to meet and show us around. Park in the allocated "Allotment Parking" area of the "Coach Park" where we will be met. Don't go to the "Public Car Park for the House".  Please be there by 2pm.  If you find you can’t make it for whatever reason please let Peggy know on 851367

"Provisional Visit to Lanhydrock Allotments with Mike Seaman"

Hello Everyone – Garden Club Members and Allotments Holders 

 

Mike Seaman of the Lanhydrock Allotments has provisionally booked our visit for Tuesday 23rd June at 2pm.  If this day is not suitable for you the alternative possibility is Thursday 25th June.  

 

Please can you let me know which of the two dates is the preferred one and then we shall make a decision based on the majority!  We shall need to know numbers in advance so Mike can have another committee member at Lanhydrock to show us around.  Transport arrangements will be on a car share basis, so please let me know if you need a lift or are prepared to drive or/and can offer places in  your car.
